When policymakers have questions about workplace issues – SHRM members have the answers.
Congress will be considering legislation that includes workplace topics and should lean on the HR profession for expertise. On March 31, President Joe Biden released his blueprint for the American Jobs Plan to invest, modernize, and improve U.S. infrastructure, generate jobs, and boost economic growth.
The American Jobs Plan contains several workplace issues including workforce development, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, job-based training, hiring from untapped talent pools and provisions to strengthen unions.
HR professionals like you, sit at the intersection of work, workers and the workplace. You have experiences implementing many of the workplace initiatives included in the American Jobs Plan and can provide guidance to lawmakers and their staffs as they draft legislation.
In addition, many of you are implementing innovative solutions as your workplaces continue to navigate through the pandemic. Lawmakers need to hear from you, especially as they consider future COVID-19 relief and recovery proposals.
